Saint Mary's Hall extended their winning streak to nine games thanks to a huge performance from Breanna Benavides. The Barons put the hurt on the San Antonio Christian Lions with a sharp 3-0 victory on Wednesday for which the team can thank Benavides, who had 25 digs and nine aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 53 games she's played dating back to last season.

While Saint Mary's Hall won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-21, 25-21.

Saint Mary's Hall's win bumped their record up to 20-4. As for San Antonio Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-16.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Saint Mary's Hall will challenge rival St. Joseph Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, San Antonio Christian is set to face off against their familiar foe Providence Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
