On Saturday, Lincoln East escaped with a win against Benson by the margin of a single free throw, 44-43. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Lincoln East.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lincoln East to victory, but perhaps none more so than Connor Johnson, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. The matchup was Johnson's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jang Dak, who scored six points along with 13 rebounds.
Goanar Bamach and Noah Faya certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Bamach scored 17 points along with seven rebounds, while Faya scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and four blocks. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for him.
Lincoln East has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season. As for Benson, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Lincoln East will be home for the holidays to greet Fremont at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Fremont is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. Benson will take on Bellevue East in a holiday battle at 5:45 p.m. on Friday at.
