Baseball Recap: Chattanooga Christian Has No Trouble Against Mccallie

Chattanooga Christian had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt McCallie on Monday. The Chargers blew past the Blue Tornado 10-4. Considering the Chargers have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Andrew Petty was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Caleb Zurawick, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run.

Chattanooga Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McCallie only posted an OBP of .400.

Chattanooga Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for McCallie, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-11.

Chattanooga Christian will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Blue Tornado: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
