Jackson Prep let Gardner Young and Carson Powell run wild. Young went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Powell went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The dominant performance also gave Powell a new career-high in hits (two). Major Quin was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, the third road contest was the charm for Heritage Academy, as they earned their first road win of the season. They walked away with a 10-7 victory over North Delta on Monday.
Isaiah Clark and Adyn Westmoreland did most of the damage at the plate: Clark scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Westmoreland got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Clark also launched a home run, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kaden Avery, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.
Jackson Prep pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their 24th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs over those games. As for Heritage Academy, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Friday's match will be a test for both team's pitchers. Jackson Prep hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having hit 0 of their hits per game. However, it's not like Heritage Academy struggles in that department as they've hit 0 of their hits this season.
