Baseball Recap: Coolidge Comes Up Short

Coolidge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 17-2 to the McKinley Tech Trainers. If the Colts were looking for revenge after losing 24-0 to the Trainers when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Idris Mouton and Orion Fernandez stepped up to the plate in a big way. Mouton scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-1, while Fernandez scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances. Mouton is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Rodrigo Cabrera-Garcia also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Coolidge's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Coolidge didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 19-1 loss against Jackson-Reed on the 24th. As for McKinley Tech, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 15-3 victory against Cardozo on the 24th.
