The Englewood Rams's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by First Coast 50-14. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Englewood in their matchups with First Coast: they've now lost seven in a row.
Nima Kargbo was Englewood's leading scorer, having posted six points.
It was another big night for Lauren Maitland, who scored 29 points along with seven steals and five rebounds for First Coast. The match was Maitland's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Sha'niah Bennett was another key contributor, scoring two points along with 17 rebounds and four steals.
Englewood bumped their record down to 1-7 with that loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.7 points per game. As for First Coast, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Englewood will be home for the holidays to greet Fletcher at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fletcher is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for First Coast, they will stay at home for another game and welcome KIPP Bold City at 6:00 p.m. on December 16th. KIPP Bold City is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
