Independence barely beat Franklin the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles' pitchers stepped up to hand the Admirals a 10-0 shutout on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Independence's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-7. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Franklin, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Independence beat Franklin by a score of 8-6 on Tuesday.
