The Harrison Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 61-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Lafayette. Harrison was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as West Lafayette apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Harrison lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ray Gibson, who scored 13 points along with three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi King, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds.
Harrison has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for West Lafayette, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harrison will square off against Lake Central at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Lake Central will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. As for West Lafayette, they will head out on the road to face off against Covington at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Covington is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
