The Selinsgrove Seals will head out on the road to face off against the Mifflinburg Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Selinsgrove is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mifflinburg in Pennsylvania (Selinsgrove is ranked 96th, while Mifflinburg is ranked 216th).
Selinsgrove unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak last Tuesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 50-49 to Wilkes-Barre.
Despite the loss, Selinsgrove got a solid performance out of Ries Naugle, who scored 17 points. The match was Naugle's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Diehl, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Mifflinburg was able to grind out a solid win over East Juniata on Wednesday, taking the game 56-46. The win made it back-to-back wins for Mifflinburg.
Selinsgrove's loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Mifflinburg, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Selinsgrove and Mifflinburg were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in December of 2022, but Selinsgrove came up empty-handed after a 53-52 defeat. Can Selinsgrove avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
