Lawrence County has enjoyed a five-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the South Pike Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
Last Tuesday, Lawrence County came up short against Brookhaven and fell 54-47.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday South Pike sidestepped Magee for a 52-50 victory. The victory was just what South Pike needed coming off of a 57-25 loss in their prior match.
Alannah Pittman continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with 5 steals. Deanna Lewis was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 5 rebounds.
Lawrence County's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for South Pike, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2.
Lawrence County came up short against South Pike when the teams last played back in January of 2021, falling 49-36. Can Lawrence County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
