Oklahoma Union outpaced the rest of the league this week, as its four total wins led the league. The Cougars beat
Quapaw 12-2,
South Coffeyville 17-0 and
Wyandotte 6-0.
Oklahoma Union made the biggest jump in the standings this week, moving from eighth to first place in Lucky Seven thanks to a 4-0 record over the past seven days. Meanwhile, the Bears fell hardest in the standings, dropping from first all the way to fifth place after going 1-3 in the past week.
Wyandotte's pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only 17 hits and 13 walks, both of which led the league.
The week's strikeout crown belonged to
Ty Essex, who turned in 23 Ks for the Bears. With 31 strikeouts this year so far, he ranks first in the league.
Essex threw a shutout as he led Wyandotte to victory over
Colcord, 8-0, on Friday. He struck out seven, allowing two hits.
Essex led the Cougars to a win on March 18, as he notched nine strikeouts to beat the Bears, 6-0. Over five innings of work, he gave up five hits and six runs.
