The Fox Tech Buffaloes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a 65-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Carrizo Springs. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
When it comes to explaining why Fox Tech lost, one person who can't be blamed is Amaryon Thompson. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds. Thompson scored a full 48.3% of Fox Tech's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Anthony Reyes, who scored two points along with seven assists and five steals.
Even though they lost, Fox Tech were working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Fox Tech has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Carrizo Springs, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Fox Tech will be home for the holidays to greet Nixon-Smiley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Carrizo Springs will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Canyon at 5:00 p.m. on December 18th. Canyon knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Carrizo Springs likes a good challenge.
