The Flandreau Fliers won the last time they faced the Flandreau Indian Indians, and things went their way on Thursday, too. The Fliers took their contest against Flandreau Indian 64-54. The win was familiar territory for Flandreau, who now has three in a row.
The matchup started off well for Flandreau, whose offense put up 38 first-half points. The Indians weren't quite able to keep up, and the score was 38-14 heading into the break. Flandreau was outperformed in the second half 40-26 but had enough points saved up to walk away with the win.
The Fliers found their leader in underclassman sophomore Tash Lunday, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and 16 boards.
Flandreau's victory brought them up to 10-8. Flandreau Indian's overall record fell to 3-15.
Flandreau will square off against Deuel on Monday. Flandreau will be hoping to continue their now three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last. As for the Indians, they will go up against Oldham-Ramona/Rutland Friday. The MaxPreps rankings favor Flandreau Indian, but they won't be able to rely on this superior ranking alone to carry them to victory.
