Sparta Academy took a serious blow against Wilcox Academy, falling 60-33. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sparta Academy in their matchups with Wilcox Academy: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the defeat, Sparta Academy saw an underclassman step up: Murfee Williams scored 7 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals.
Sparta Academy now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Wilcox Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sparta Academy will take on South Choctaw Academy at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Wilcox Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Meadowview Christian at 6:00 p.m. on December 11th.
