Delta Streets Academy kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 36-18 bruising from the Newton County Academy Generals.
Newton County Academy was led to victory by Cooper Savell and Ty Thrash. Savell rushed for 272 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 14.3 yards per carry, while Thrash rushed for 184 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry.
