The Village Vikings are on the road again on Saturday and plays the Central Catholic Buttons at 7:00 p.m. on February 10th. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
After failing to score in their last matchup, Village made sure to put some goals up on the board against St. Thomas Catholic last Tuesday. They had just enough and edged the Eagles out 4-3. That one goal margin sets a new team best for Village this season.
Meanwhile, Central Catholic had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.2 goals), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They put the hurt on St. Pius X with a sharp 4-0 win. The result was nothing new for Central Catholic, who have now won ten contests by three goals or more so far this season.
They hit St. Pius X with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Alessandro Misael sierra (2),
Evan Pacheco, and
Andres Sanchez.
Village's victory bumped their record up to 1-2-1. As for Central Catholic, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-2.
