The Shorewood Stormrays will take on the Nathan Hale Raiders at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Shorewood barely beat Meadowdale the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Stormrays were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the Mavericks last Friday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 13, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Lorenzo Jaramillo and Finn Liekkio did most of the damage at the plate: Jaramillo went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Liekkio got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Liekkio a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Rojas, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Nathan Hale came out on top against Cleveland on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run first inning. The Raiders blew past the Eagles 8-1.
The team relied heavily on Julian Gonzalez, who went 3-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Eliot Jennings was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two RBI and one run.
Nathan Hale kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Shorewood's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Nathan Hale, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-9-1.
Saturday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Shorewood has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .444. However, it's not like Nathan Hale struggles in that department as they've averaged .435. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
