The BASIS Phoenix Firebirds's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They suffered a tough 47-27 defeat at the hands of Basis. BASIS Phoenix lost against Basis in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 69-35 score last time.
It was another big night for Jack Engelthaler, who dropped a triple-double on 26 points, 10 rebounds, and 12 steals for Basis. That makes it four consecutive games in which Engelthaler has scored at least 25% of Basis' points. McLane Baillie was another key contributor, scoring 4 points along with 9 rebounds and 7 steals.
BASIS Phoenix's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Basis, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. BASIS Phoenix will take on Heritage Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Heritage Academy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. As for Basis, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Seligman at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
