Meanwhile, Breckenridge sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 34-31 victory over Coleman on Friday. Given Breckenridge's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 195th, while Coleman is ranked 533rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Merrill has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. As for Breckenridge, their victory bumped their record up to 12-4.
