HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J. - The defense contributed on the scoring end for
Hasbrouck Heights (N.J.) on Saturday, totaling 12 points as the Aviators beat Emerson (N.J.) 55-9.
After taking the lead on a
Steven Salerno touchdown run in the first quarter, the Aviators were up 34-0 at the half.
Hasbrouck Heights expanded its lead to 41 points entering the fourth quarter. HH scored two times in the third, including once on a defensive touchdown.
With the win the Aviators extended their winning streak to five games. Hasbrouck Heights defeated Becton 56-20 last week.
Salerno was the top performer for Hasbrouck Heights. He ran for one touchdown and caught one touchdown. He has now scored four touchdowns on the season.
Emerson's lone touchdown came on a 4-yard run in the third quarter.
The defeat comes as a step back for Emerson, who notched a 28-0 victory over Wood-Ridge in its previous outing.
