Eaton extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping them up to 3-0. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Golden Demons 9-7. For the Reds, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 victory the Demons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2025.
Jackson Denooy made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits. Denooy was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other pitching news, Eaton gave Gunnar Garrison the start and clearly made the right call: he struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk).
Back at the plate, Eaton let Tito Lopez and Grayson Sauer run wild. Lopez went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Sauer went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Lopez has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Chase Schmitt, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI.
Eaton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Golden only posted an OBP of .353.
Having lost for the first time this season, Golden fell to 2-1. The loss put an end to their undefeated start to the season.
On Golden's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Bittner, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Liam Leffert was another, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Coming up, Eaton will take on Lamar at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Golden, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 9-1 win against Summit on the 19th.
