The Woodcreek Timberwolves will take on the El Dorado Cougars in a tournament on Thursday. Woodcreek will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.
Woodcreek is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Del Oro: they outscored them in every quarter. Woodcreek strolled past Del Oro with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 69-53. Given the Timberwolves' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 170th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Will Dennie was nothing short of spectacular: he posted 26 points. Those 26 points gave him a new career-high. Michael Kirby, Jr. was another key player, putting up 13 points.
Meanwhile, El Dorado entered their tilt with Highlands on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Everything went their way against the Scots as they made off with a 74-52 win. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season.
Woodcreek better keep an eye on Logan Baker. He was instrumental in El Dorado's win, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. The contest was Baker's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Beasley, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 15 points and five assists.
El Dorado smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Highlands only pulled down eight offensive boards.
Woodcreek's record is now 10-1. As for El Dorado, their record is now 7-3.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as both are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Woodcreek hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 63.8 points per game. However, it's not like El Dorado struggles in that department as they've been averaging 66.4 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Woodcreek took their victory against El Dorado when the teams last played back in December of 2021 by a conclusive 61-36. Does Woodcreek have another victory up their sleeve, or will El Dorado turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
