The Wilby Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Seymour Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Ansonia scored an imposing 62 points on Friday, Wilby still came out on top. It was close, but Wilby ultimately received the gift of a 64-62 win from a begrudging Wildcatssquad.
Meanwhile, Seymour had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They really took it to Wolcott for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-38 victory on the road.
Seymour can attribute much of their success to Indrit Peraj, who scored 23 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaquan Ellis, who scored 15 points.
Wilby's victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-0. As for Seymour, their victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-0.
Wilby couldn't quite finish off Seymour in their previous matchup back in January and fell 79-76. Thankfully for Wilby, Caden Drezek (who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 11 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
