Socastee fought the good fight in their overtime game against Carolina Forest on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 78-73 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Carolina Forest Panthers. One positive for the Braves, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

When it comes to explaining why Socastee lost, don't look at Bryson Sams. Despite the final result, he went 8 of 19 on his way to 28 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ephriam Hicks, who posted 11 points.

Socastee has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Carolina Forest, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Socastee will head out to square off against North Myrtle Beach at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Carolina Forest, they will venture away from home to challenge St. James at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
