Merrimack Valley will look to defend their home turf on Saturday against Belmont-Gilford at 2:00 PM. Merrimack Valley is expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the game prepared for a fight.
Merrimack Valley had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They ended up on the wrong side of a painful 12-46 walloping at Stark's hands.
Meanwhile, Belmont-Gilford gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener last Saturday. They dodged a bullet, finishing off Pembroke 21-20.
Belmont-Gilford's win lifted them to 1-0 while Merrimack Valley's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Belmont-Gilford can add another positive mark to their record or if Merrimack Valley can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Belmont-Gilford's step.
