Hondo is 5-0 against the Mustangs since November of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Hondo Owls will look to defend their home court against the Natalia Mustangs at 6:15 p.m.
Hondo has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were dealt a 75-38 loss at the hands of Lytle on Friday. Hondo has struggled against the Pirates recently, as their game on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Natalia humbled the Wolves with a 64-30 victory. With Natalia ahead 35-13 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Natalia's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Leyla Saenz, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Anaya Jones, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and six steals.
Hondo's defeat dropped their record down to 18-10. As for Natalia, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-20.
