Basketball Recap: Tintic's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

Tintic entered their game against Rich on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Tintic Miners took a 69-54 bruising from the Rich Rebels. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Miners this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 66-48 on January 4th.

Despite the loss, Tintic still got an impressive performance from Haygen Jameson, who went 6 for 13 on his way to 20 points and eight boards. That's the most points Jameson has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Hagen Barton, who went 5 of 8 en route to 10 points.

Rich was led to victory by Ridge Lundgren and Drake Weston. Lundgren went 7 for 16 on his way to 22 points and five rebounds, while Weston posted 11 points along with eight boards and seven assists. Carter Scott was another key player, putting up 11 points and eight rebounds.

Tintic's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-6. As for Rich, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 14-2.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Altamont the next time they take the court. Tintic will head out to face Altamont at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Rich will host them at 5:30 p.m. on January 31st.
