Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Thomas Jefferson Gryphons, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were dealt a 55-7 defeat at the hands of Robbinsville on Friday. Thomas Jefferson was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-0.
Among those leading the charge was Cuttler Adams, who rushed for 141 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Adams really tore up the turf during one magnificent 81-yard run. Quinn Jumper was in the mix too, providing Robbinsville with two touchdowns.
Thomas Jefferson's loss was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their record down to 2-9. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.3 points per game. As for Robbinsville, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
Thomas Jefferson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Robbinsville's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Mountain Island Charter at 7:30 p.m. on November 10th. Mountain Island Charter is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
