Mars Hill Academy came into Wednesday's contest having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They managed a 36-30 win over East Dayton Christian on Wednesday. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Mars Hill Academy has scored all season.
Several East Dayton Christian players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Damir Walder, who scored nine points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Walder is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed five or more in the last three games he's played. Julian Atwood was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with four steals.
Mars Hill Academy's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-4. As for East Dayton Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-16.
Mars Hill Academy will play host again and welcome the Eagles, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday. East Dayton Christian is on the road again on Friday and plays the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Calvary Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
