Water Canyon has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against The Rich Rebels at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Water Canyon is ranked fourth, while Rich is ranked second).
Water Canyon can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. Everything went their way against Whitehorse as Water Canyon made off with a 26-0 win. Water Canyon pushed the score to 20-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Whitehorse had little chance of recovering from.
It was another big night for Johnny Johnson, who threw for 140 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 90 yards on only nine carries.
Water Canyon's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was David Barlow and his two sacks.
Rich can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game two weeks ago. They walked away with a 20-7 win over Pinedale. The victory was just what Rich needed coming off of a 36-13 loss in their prior contest.
The critical scores for Rich came from Jaden Desch, Noah Parry, and Daniel Smith.
Water Canyon now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Rich, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's game: Water Canyon has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 303.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Rich struggles in that department as they've been averaging 162.7 per game. It's looking like Friday's match might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Water Canyon was taken down by Rich 48-6 in their previous meeting back in August. Can Water Canyon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
