Marquand-Zion is 1-6 against Oak Ridge since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Marquand-Zion Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Oak Ridge Blue Jays at 7:30 p.m. Marquand-Zion will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 544th, while Oak Ridge is ranked 168th).
Marquand-Zion scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They walked away with a 68-60 victory over Eagle Ridge Christian. The win was just what Marquand-Zion needed coming off of a 81-42 defeat in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, Oak Ridge waltzed into their matchup two weeks ago with two straight wins but they left with three. They took down Crystal City 53-35. 53 seems to be a good number for Oak Ridge as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Marquand-Zion's record now sits at 3-8. As for Oak Ridge, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-5.
Marquand-Zion took a serious blow against Oak Ridge in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 96-49. Can Marquand-Zion avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
