Meanwhile, Briarfield Academy stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They breezed by Central School at home to the tune of 60-27. Given Briarfield Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while Central School is ranked 296th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Northeast Baptist's defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.0 points per game. As for Briarfield Academy, their win bumped their record up to 13-1.
Northeast Baptist was dealt a bruising 61-12 defeat at the hands of Briarfield Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Northeast Baptist avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
