2A Great Northern recap November 5, 2013
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Colville, who took down 94th ranked Cheney, 19-13.
Pullman and West Valley played the most contested game in 2A Great Northern this week, with Pullman eventually emerging with a 41-38 victory. Mason Petrino threw for 140 yards and 1 touchdown and ran for 44 yards in the win.
David Ungerer was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 89 yards on 13 carries as the Greyhounds fell to Deer Park. Justin Pintak also contributed to the rushing game with 79 yards on the ground.
On the heels of Petrino and Ungerer, Pullman has had great success on offense. Petrino is tops in the league in passing with 1,391 yards, while Ungerer has rushed for 1,012 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is the Bantams' Adams, with 865 yards on 42 catches.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Pullman takes on second place Colville.
The Indians made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,661 from 5,346. The improvement was largely due to a 19-13 victory over the Blackhawks last week.
