Basketball Recap: Theodore Gets the Win

It was a proper cat-fight when Theodore took on Williamson on Tuesday. The Bobcats snuck past the Lions with a 48-44 victory. The win continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won three in a row.

Among those leading the charge was Kelsey Collins, who posted eight points along with six assists and six rebounds. Those six assists gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zaley Pickens, who went 6-for-14 to rack up 17 points and five boards.

Theodore smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. They are a perfect 4-0 when they hit their own glass that hard.

Paydon Davis and Shekinah Lane certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Davis shot 50% from the field on her way to 17 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals, while Lane went 6-for-10 en route to 14 points and six boards. That was a full 38.6% of Williamson's points, marking the fifth time in a row Davis has scored more than a third of the team's points. Jarhiya Davis also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Theodore's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Williamson, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-3.

Theodore has already played their next matchup (against Davidson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Williamson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 62-24 defeat against McGill-Toolen on the 12th.
