The South River Seahawks were the 35-23 winner over the North County Knights when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. South River suffered a tough 33-13 defeat at the hands of North County on Friday. South River has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Leading North County to victory were Darius Burley and Nate Bedell. Burley threw for 151 yards and three touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes, while Bedell rushed for 170 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Another player making a difference was Dakari Martin, who gained 90 total yards and a touchdown.
South River's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for North County, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South River will take on Northeast at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maryland (Northeast is ranked 104th, while South River is ranked 128th). As for North County, they will head out on the road to face off against Old Mill at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The last four games Old Mill has played have been within five points, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
