The Spencer County Bears pushed their score all the way to 81 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Taylor County by a score of 83-81. Spencer County lost against Taylor County in their previous head to head back in December of 2018, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 72-66 score last time.
Defeat or not, Spencer County got some senior leadership from Camden Cox who went 6 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 31 points and 3 assists and Luke Erhardt who scored 31 points. Erhardt scored a full 38.3% of Spencer County's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keaton Baird, who scored 10 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists.
Spencer County's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Taylor County, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Spencer County will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against DeSales at 4:30 p.m. on December 9th. As for Taylor County, they will face off against Wayne County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
