Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Alpharetta Raiders, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They suffered a rough 33-9 loss at the hands of Sequoyah on Friday. Alpharetta's loss continues a unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Alpharetta's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ethan Barbour, who picked up 95 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Alpharetta bumped their record down to 5-6 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Sequoyah, Roswell, and Blessed Trinity. As for Sequoyah, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.
Alpharetta does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sequoyah will take on Douglas County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Douglas County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Sequoyah in Georgia (Douglas County is ranked seventh, while Sequoyah is ranked 62nd).
