The White County Warriors won the last time they faced the Cumberland County Jets, and things went their way on Friday too. White County strolled past the Jets with points to spare, taking the game 52-34.
White County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tripp Pinion led the charge by scoring 22 points along with five assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Pinion has scored at least a third of White County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Sims, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
White County's win bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Cumberland County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. White County will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Bees at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th. Upperman will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. As for Cumberland County, they will head out on the road to face off against the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Stone Memorial presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Jets in Tennessee (the Panthers are ranked 66th, while the Jets are ranked 324th).
