Gretna East came tearing into Thursday's contest with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Beatrice Orangemen a 5-0 shutout.
Nolan Green made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Drew Barratta looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).
Back at the plate, Kasen Brown was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Carson Herrmann, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.
