The Norfolk Collegiate Mighty Oaks can now show off 12 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. Everything went their way against Atlantic Shores Christian as Norfolk Collegiate made off with a 75-50 win. Given Norfolk Collegiate's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while Atlantic Shores Christian is ranked 191st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Norfolk Collegiate was led to victory by Justin Burrough and Brennan Chatman. Burrough scored 21 points along with six rebounds and five assists, while Chatman scored 23 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Burrough is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rashaad Williams, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten assists.
Norfolk Collegiate's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.5 points per game. As for Atlantic Shores Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-13.
Norfolk Collegiate will head out on the road to take on Steward at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Norfolk Collegiate has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 580 points over their last eight matches. As for Atlantic Shores Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against St. Michael the Archangel at 2:00 p.m. on February 10th. St. Michael the Archangel will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something Atlantic Shores Christian surely won't give up without a fight.
