Lebanon is a perfect 3-0 against Oak Hills since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Warriors will host the Highlanders at 4:30 p.m. Lebanon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Lebanon is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Northmont just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thunderbolts. The matchup marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Lebanon got a good showing from Brody Mellott, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. That's the fewest hits Mellott has allowed over his last three contests.
Meanwhile, Oak Hills had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Skyhawks with a sharp 11-3 victory. That's two games straight that the Highlanders have won by exactly eight runs.
Landen Seifert looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Lincoln Schreiber was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Dax Redman, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.
Oak Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.
Oak Hills' win bumped their record up to 16-9. As for Lebanon, their loss dropped their record down to 15-6.
Monday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lebanon hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .336. However, it's not like Oak Hills struggles in that department as they've averaged .314. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lebanon came out on top in a nail-biter against Oak Hills in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 4-2. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Highlanders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
