Blue Ridge won against Southwest Virginia Academy on Monday with 14 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Jays blew past Faith Baptist 14-4. Considering the Jays have won seven matches by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Blue Ridge let Alex Showalter and Josh Craig run wild. Showalter got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs, while Craig went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Showalter has posted since back in April of 2024. Micaiah Hill also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Blue Ridge lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The victory (which was Blue Ridge's sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Faith Baptist, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Blue Ridge will square off against James River HomeSchool at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Faith Baptist, they will face off against United Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Crusaders will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
