After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mesa Grande Academy, the Public Safety Academy Phoenix were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They came out on top against Palm Valley by a score of 51-38. The win was all the more spectacular given Public Safety Academy's disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1155th, while Palm Valley is ranked 523rd).
Despite the defeat, Palm Valley saw an underclassman step up: Donovan Knott scored 17 points along with 3 steals. Knott is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season.
The win got Public Safety Academy back to even at 3-3. As for Palm Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 3-1.
Public Safety Academy will head out on the road to face off against River Springs Charter School Magnolia at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Palm Valley, they will be playing at home against Joshua Springs Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
