Rushville is 0-10 against Batesville since September of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Rushville Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Batesville Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
A well-balanced attack led Rushville over Greensburg in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Rushville blew Greensburg out of the water with a 52-13 final score. The victory was just what Rushville needed coming off of a 48-24 loss in their prior game.
Nick Jarman and Harper Miller were among the main playmakers for Rushville as the former threw for 157 yards and three touchdowns on only ten passes and the latter rushed for 125 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Miller's longest rush was for an incredible 89 yards. Chase Woolf also helped out with an impressive 85 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Batesville had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Connersville 55-14 on the road. The result was nothing new for Batesville, who have now won five games by 21 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Batesville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gage Pohlman, who rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries, and also caught a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Jaisle, who threw for 169 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 passes.
Rushville's victory ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6. Batesville has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in eight of their first nine matches, giving them a 8-1 record.
Rushville was dealt a bruising 56-18 loss at the hands of Batesville when the teams last played back in September. Will Rushville have more luck at home instead of on the road?
