The Edon Bombers will face off against the Stryker Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Edon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.
Edon is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Gorham Fayette on Monday as they made off with a 24-5 victory. The win continues a trend for the Bombers in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.
Makayla Anspaugh made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Kaylynn Bartlett and Nevaeh Smith did most of the damage at the plate: Bartlett went 2-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI, while Smith got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three RBI gave Bartlett a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Allyson Derck, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Edon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 9.4.
Meanwhile, Stryker was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 11-0 to Holgate.
Edon's victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Stryker, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
Edon's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's game. The Bombers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Stryker, though, as they've been averaging only 0.6 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Edon continue to outrun the ball?
Edon was able to grind out a solid win over Stryker in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 6-1. Do the Bombers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
