Gloucester County Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alanna Esposito led the charge by putting up nine points and eight rebounds. Those nine points gave Esposito a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nina Mason, who posted ten points and three steals.
Gloucester County Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in eight consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for King's Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They strolled past Calvary Academy with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 37-23.
King's Christian's win came from a few key players Gloucester County Christian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Vivian Galvis, who earned 13 points and eight steals. Galvis is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Lillian Logan was another key player, putting up eight points and 12 boards.
King's Christian's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-15. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 18.7 points over those games. As for Gloucester County Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Gloucester County Christian has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 22.3 rebounds per game. However, it's not like King's Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.8 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
