Windber has gone a perfect 10-0 against North Star recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Ramblers will venture away from home to challenge the Cougars at 4:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Windber came out on top against Portage on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run fifth inning. The Ramblers put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 16-5 victory. The Ramblers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Windber got a massive performance out of Rylee Baer, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run and five RBI. That's the most RBI Baer has posted since back in March of 2025. Sadie Pecze also deserves some recognition as she hit her first doubles of the season.
Windber always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .651. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, North Star waltzed into their contest on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Biue Pirates 11-1. While the Cougars didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Ryleigh Grove spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits.
On the hitting side, Morgan Snyder was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with one home run, four stolen bases, and five RBI. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 3.2 RBI per game. Emma Grigg was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple.
Windber's record now sits at 6-2. As for North Star, their record is now 4-1.
Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Windber has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .520. However, it's not like North Star struggles in that department as they've averaged .523. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Windber got the 'W' when the teams last played back in May of 2025 against North Star by a conclusive 14-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Ramblers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
