Greenville was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Vandalia on Tuesday. The Comets blew past the Vandals 17-3. The Comets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by six runs or more this season.
Payton White made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5.
In other batting news, Greenville got a massive performance out of Haylee Clark, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Ramzi Stefanisin, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

As for Vandalia, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Comets 2, the Miners 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
