Capuchino and Hillsdale are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2022, but likely not for long. The Mustangs will face off against the Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Capuchino put up the most runs they have all season on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over Sequoia. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Mustangs as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Lily Thomas made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and one triple. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
Capuchino always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Hillsdale made easy work of Carlmont on Tuesday and carried off a 16-1 win. With that victory, the Knights brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
The team relied heavily on Mia DeMartini, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Liana Mack, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Capuchino's record now sits at 7-10. As for Hillsdale, their record is now 14-7.
Capuchino came up short against Hillsdale when the teams last played on April 7th, falling 5-1. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
