The Hugoton Eagles will stay at home for another game and welcome the Hooker Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard on Friday.
Last Tuesday, Hugoton strolled past the Longhorns with points to spare, taking the game 70-53. Given Hugoton's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Longhorns are ranked 54th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
In what's become a running theme this season, Hooker gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Liberal 75-37 at home. The win was familiar territory for Hooker who now have three in a row.
Hugoton is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season. As for Hooker, their victory bumped their record up to 15-1.
Hugoton didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Bulldogs when the teams last played back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 64-60 win. Does Hugoton have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
